What's Under Our Turf?
Our turf installation process involves excavating 4 inches of earth and replacing it with 3/8th bluestone. The bluestone is then compacted to create a sturdy base for the turf. Next, the turf is installed on top of the bluestone base, and cut, seamed, and glued for a seamless appearance. To ensure the turf is secure, 6” galvanized stakes are placed around the perimeter every 6”. Finally, 1lb of quartz sand per sq ft is put down to ensure all bristles stand up straight and the turf is fully held down by the weight.
TURF INSTALLATION PROCESS
1. Site Preparation
- Excavate 4 inches of earth to create a stable base.
- Remove any debris to ensure a smooth surface for installation.
2. Base Installation
- Replace the excavated area with 3/8” bluestone for proper drainage and support.
- Compact the 3/8” bluestone thoroughly to create a firm foundation.
3. Turf Placement & Securing
- Lay the artificial turf on top of the compacted bluestone base.
- Cut, seam, and glue the turf carefully to achieve a seamless appearance.
- Secure the turf using 6” galvanized stakes around the perimeter, placing them every 6 inches.
4. Final Touches & Infill
- Spread 1 lb of quartz sand per sq. ft. across the turf.
- Brush the turf to ensure the bristles stand upright.
- The quartz sand adds weight to help secure the turf and enhance durability.
